Adventure,Drama,Action,Thriller  United States of America

Walking Tall is a 2004 American action film based on the real-life story of Sheriff Buford Pusser, who fought to clean up crime and corruption in his hometown of McNairy County, Tennessee. In the film, the former U.S. soldier Chris Vaughn (played by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson) returns to his hometown after serving in the Army, only to find it overrun by corruption, drugs and violence.

He discovers that the town's sawmill, which used to be the main source of employment for the town, has been taken over by a gang of criminals who use it as a front for their illegal operations. Vaughn tries to go to the authorities to get the situation under control, but finds that they are just as corrupt as the criminals.

Determined to clean up his hometown, Vaughn takes matters into his own hands, first by taking down the drug dealers and then the corrupt officials who have been protecting them. He is aided by his old friend, Ray Templeton (played by Johnny Knoxville), who helps him physically enforce his own version of justice.

As Vaughn becomes more successful in his mission, he gains the support of the local community, and ultimately becomes sheriff of the town. In the end, he is shown driving out of town, leaving behind a safer, more peaceful community.

Walking Tall was directed by Kevin Bray and produced by WWE Films. Despite mixed reviews from critics, the film was a box office success and led to a 2007 sequel, Walking Tall: Lone Justice.
