Wake Up, Ron Burgundy: The Lost Movie is a 2004 comedy film that is a companion to the popular comedy Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy. The concept of the film is that the original Anchorman film was edited down from a much longer and crazier version, with this "lost movie" being a compilation of various cut scenes and alternate takes.

The film takes place in 1979, with Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell) and Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate) co-anchoring the news at a fictional San Diego television station called KVWN. Their on-screen rivalry quickly becomes personal, with Ron becoming jealous of Veronica's increasing success and her flirtatious relationship with their boss Wes Mantooth (Chris Parnell).

While all of this is happening, a group of bumbling basement-dwelling "thieves" called The Alarm Clock (led by notables such as Maya Rudolph, Amy Poehler, and Paul Rudd) are trying to break into the newsroom and unlock a supposedly game-changing story that will change the course of history – if they can only figure out how to do it first.

The plot of Wake Up, Ron Burgundy is intentionally nonsensical and disjointed, with numerous bizarre subplots and characters that don't seem to fully connect. The film is essentially a hodgepodge of deleted scenes, alternate takes, and improvised moments from the original Anchorman film, rearranged in an entirely new way to create a completely different story.

As a result, Wake Up, Ron Burgundy is a weird and often surreal viewing experience that might not appeal to everyone. However, fans of Anchorman and the absurdist comedy stylings of star Will Ferrell and director Adam McKay will likely find plenty to enjoy in this offbeat and often hilarious "lost" movie.
