Waiting for Spring is a romantic drama film based on the manga series of the same name by Anashin. The plot follows Mitsuki Haruno, a shy and introverted high school student who has trouble making friends and often feels left out of social activities. Her life takes a turn when she is befriended by Towa Asakura, a popular and outgoing basketball player at her school.

Despite their initial awkwardness around each other, Mitsuki and Towa gradually become close friends, bonding over their shared love of basketball. However, as she begins spending more time with Towa and his friends, Mitsuki starts to feel out of place among the popular crowd. She also begins to develop romantic feelings for Towa, complicating their already complicated relationship.

As Mitsuki navigates her newfound social status and her feelings for Towa, she also begins to confront personal issues from her past that have been holding her back. With the help of Towa and her new friends, she learns to overcome her insecurities and discover her true self.

Directed by Yuichiro Hirakawa and starring Tao Tsuchiya, Yuta Koseki, Hayato Isomura, and Yosuke Sugino, Waiting for Spring is a heartwarming and uplifting coming-of-age story about friendship, love, and self-discovery.
