Waist Deep is a 2006 action crime thriller film directed by Vondie Curtis-Hall. It stars Tyrese Gibson as O2, a former gang member who has turned his life around and is trying to provide a better life for his young son, Junior (played by H. Hunter Hall).
One day, O2 stops at an ATM with his son in the car only to have the car hijacked with Junior still in the backseat. O2 is willing to do anything to get his son back, and he finds himself forced to team up with a street-savvy hustler named Coco (played by Meagan Good) to track down the kidnappers in the dangerous underworld of Los Angeles.
As O2 delves deeper into the city’s criminal underworld, he finds himself facing off against vicious gang members and corrupt cops, all while trying to protect his son. Along the way, he meets a variety of characters, including an old friend who helps him, a drug lord who presents a serious challenge, and a mysterious woman who catches his eye.
As the clock ticks down and the stakes get higher, O2 must use all of his street smarts and fighting skills to get his son back and take down his enemies. The film is a fast-paced, tense thriller with plenty of action, car chases, gun fights, and dramatic moments as O2 learns just how far he’s willing to go to protect his family.
