Voice of Silence is a South Korean crime drama film that was directed by Hong Eui-jeong and released in 2020. The movie follows Tae-in (Yoo Ah-in) and Chang-bok (Yoo Jae-myung), two deaf-mute men who work for a cleaning company that specializes in disposing of dead bodies. One day, they receive an unusual request from a mysterious man who asks them to take care of an 11-year-old girl named Cho-hee (Moon Seung-ah), who has been kidnapped and hidden in an abandoned building.

Initially hesitant to take on the task, Tae-in and Chang-bok eventually agree to help after being offered a large amount of money. They soon discover that Cho-hee is no ordinary girl and that her abductors are willing to go to extreme lengths to keep her hidden. As they come to care for the young girl, they find themselves drawn into a dangerous world of crime and violence.

Throughout the film, the characters' communication barriers (being deaf-mute) play a significant role. The two men use sign language and expressions to communicate with each other, with Cho-hee learning their language as well. Despite not being able to hear, the trio proves to be resourceful and capable, eventually uncovering a dark secret behind the kidnapping.

Voice of Silence is a touching and suspenseful film, with impressive performances from the lead actors, particularly Yoo Ah-in, who receives praise for his portrayal of Tae-in. The movie received critical acclaim and was selected as South Korea's official submission for the Best International Feature Film category at the 93rd Academy Awards.
