Mike is portrayed as a psychopath who adopts the twin babies after killing their mother. Although his wife, Julie, is initially happy about the adoption, she feels neglected as Mike becomes obsessed with raising the twins himself. Mike soon becomes abusive towards Julie and blames her for his inability to have children naturally.
Ten years later, after enduring years of abuse from her boyfriend, Stacy seeks refuge in her uncle's cabin in the woods where she herself experiences abuse from the ghost of Mike. The twins' ghosts also haunt her, crying for their mother and seeking vengeance.
As the movie progresses, Stacy discovers the truth about the twins and Mike's past, leading to a climactic showdown with the vengeful ghosts. Visible Scars is a horror movie that explores themes of child abuse, obsession, and the supernatural.
