The movie Vigilante Force takes place in a small California town during the 1970s. The town is experiencing an economic boom thanks to the discovery of oil fields nearby. However, this newfound wealth has also attracted many rough and rowdy oil workers who are causing trouble in town.
In an effort to protect themselves and their businesses, a group of wealthy town residents hires a group of vigilantes led by Kris Kristofferson's character, Ben Arnold, to help maintain order. Ben is a Vietnam War veteran who has experience dealing with tough situations and his team includes his brother Aaron (Jan-Michael Vincent), who also served in Vietnam.
At first, the vigilantes are successful in keeping the rowdy oil workers at bay, but Ben soon realizes that they are becoming more and more violent. He also discovers that the wealthy town residents who hired them may be involved in illegal activities, including bribery and corruption.
As tensions escalate between the vigilantes, the oil workers, and corrupt officials, Ben must decide where his loyalties lie and fight to protect the innocent residents of the town. The movie features intense action scenes, including shootouts and explosive car chases, as well as an exploration of the ethics of vigilantism.
