Vieni avanti cretino is a 1982 Italian comedy film directed by Luciano Salce, starring Lino Banfi as Pasquale Baudaffi. Pasquale is an ex-convict who is released from prison and struggles to find a job due to his criminal record. With the help of his cousin Gaetano, he tries his hand at various professions, but always ends up causing chaos and getting fired.
After visiting a brothel that has now been converted into a dental practice, Pasquale is mistaken for a patient and undergoes an unnecessary tooth extraction. He then becomes a gamekeeper, but accidentally shoots a dog and gets fired. He then becomes a waiter at a bar, but constantly messes up orders and is also fired. He then tries working as a garage attendant, but accidentally damages a customer's car and gets fired again.
Finally, Pasquale gets a job at an electronics company, but his lack of technical knowledge causes further mayhem and results in him accidentally creating a machine that can predict the future. This leads to a chaotic finale in which Pasquale unwittingly causes a major technological disaster.
Throughout his misadventures, Pasquale also crosses paths with a woman named Maria, whose lost dog he helps to find. The two soon begin a romantic relationship, adding some heartwarming moments to the otherwise comedic film.
