Vice Raid is a 1959 film noir directed by Edward L. Cahn. The movie follows the story of a prostitute named Carla Van Oven (Mamie Van Doren) who sets up a plan to frame a police officer named Bill Serling (Richard Coogan) after he threatens to arrest her for solicitation.

Carla convinces one of her wealthy clients, a gangster named Nick Scanlon (Brad Dexter), to help her in her plan. They stage a fake rape, and Carla accuses Serling of the crime. The plot is successful, and Serling is suspended from the force.

However, as Carla spends more time with Nick, she realizes he is not who she thought he was, and she begins to fall for another police officer, Lieutenant Pete Ramsey (Barry Atwater). She also starts to feel guilty about the plan she set up against Serling, who she now sees as a good man.

Carla decides to come clean and confess her plot to Serling, and together they work to expose Nick's criminal activities. In the end, justice prevails, and Carla and Pete leave town together.

Vice Raid explores themes of corruption, betrayal, and redemption, and features strong performances from its cast, including Mamie Van Doren in one of her most iconic roles.
