V/H/S/2 is a found-footage horror anthology film that features four short films, each directed by a different filmmaker. The overarching plot of the film follows a group of private investigators hired to break into a house and retrieve a VHS tape. As they search the house, they stumble upon a collection of tapes that contain horrifying footage of supernatural events.
The first short film, "Phase I Clinical Trials," follows a man who receives a cybernetic eye implant that allows him to see ghosts. As his visions become more frequent and intense, he realizes that the implant has a sinister purpose.
The second short, "A Ride in the Park," shows a cyclist's POV as he goes on a mountain bike ride through the woods. He encounters a woman who has been attacked by zombies and becomes infected himself. The filming style switches between his helmet-mounted camera and traditional found-footage.
The third short, "Safe Haven," is filmed in the style of a documentary following a team of journalists investigating a cult-leader-in-training in a remote Indonesian village. The cult's rituals and beliefs become increasingly disturbing, leading to a bloody climax.
The final short, "Slumber Party Alien Abduction," follows a group of teenagers who are documenting their sleepover with a series of cameras. They're suddenly interrupted by an alien invasion that turns their fun night into a terrifying fight for survival.
Throughout the film, the private investigators watch the found footage and are increasingly disturbed by what they see. As events escalate, they realize that the tape they were hired to retrieve might not be what it seems. The film ends with a chilling twist that ties everything together.
