VFW

Action,Horror  United States of America

VFW is a 2019 action horror movie directed by Joe Begos and written by Max Brallier and Matthew McArdle. The film stars Stephen Lang, William Sadler, Martin Kove, Fred Williamson, and David Patrick Kelly, among others.

The movie revolves around a group of war veterans who gather at their local VFW post to drink and reminisce about old times. Things take a turn for the worse when a young girl named Lizard (Sierra McCormick) seeks refuge in the bar after stealing a stash of drugs from a local kingpin named Boz (Travis Hammer).

Boz and his gang of punk mutants show up at the VFW post, looking for Lizard and the drugs. The veterans, led by Fred (Lang), refuse to give up the girl and fight back against the heavily armed attackers.

What follows is a brutal and gory battle between the seasoned men and the bloodthirsty mutants. The veterans use whatever weapons they can get their hands on, from pool cues to shotguns, to fight for their lives and protect Lizard from Boz and his gang.

As the night wears on and the body count rises, the veterans must rely on their military training and camaraderie to survive the onslaught. The film is a tribute to the 80s action movies and a nostalgic throwback to the grindhouse era, with an ensemble cast of iconic genre actors and an explosive soundtrack by Steve Moore.
