The movie Vertical Limit is a 2000 American survival thriller film directed by Martin Campbell and starring Chris O'Donnell, Bill Paxton, Robin Tunney, and Scott Glenn. The story revolves around a group of climbers who attempt to rescue their sister and her team who are trapped on the summit of K2, a treacherous mountain in the Himalayas.

Annie Garrett, a skilled climber, leads a team on a dangerous expedition to K2. During the ascent, an accident occurs that kills several members of her team and traps Annie and a few others in a crevasse. Peter, Annie's brother, who is also a climber, receives a distress call and puts together a rescue team.

As the rescue team makes their way up the mountain, they encounter numerous challenges and obstacles, including harsh weather conditions, avalanches, and dangerous crevasses. The team's efforts to save Annie and her group are further complicated by the fact that their oxygen supplies are limited, and they must ascend quickly to avoid running out.

The tension and drama in Vertical Limit are heightened by the relationships between the characters, particularly the strained relationship between Annie and Peter, which is tested throughout the rescue mission. As the rescue team gets closer to the summit, the stakes become higher, and the risks become greater.

The movie culminates in a series of heart-stopping climactic scenes as the rescue team attempts to reach Annie and her group before it's too late. With time running out, the climbers must work together to overcome the mountain's challenges and save the lives of those who are trapped on K2.
