Venus Talk follows the lives of three women as they navigate their identities and relationships in contemporary South Korea. Shin-Hye is a successful TV producer who seems to have it all – a high-powered career, a loving husband, and two beautiful children – but she struggles with feelings of isolation and restlessness in her marriage. Mi-Yeon is a meticulous housewife who has devoted her life to her husband and son, but she begins to question her own desires and independence when she meets a handsome younger man. Hae-Young is a single mother and professional cafe owner who is determined to find love and companionship despite the challenges she faces as a middle-aged woman.
The three friends share their secrets and seek advice from one another as they confront issues of infidelity, sexual desire, and societal expectations. Venus Talk offers a frank portrayal of women's sexuality and relationships, and challenges traditional ideas of femininity and aging in Korean society. The film is directed by KWON Chil-in, who is known for his honest and nuanced portrayals of women's lives in contemporary Korea, and stars UHM Jung-Hwa, MOON So-Ri, and JO Min-Soo in the lead roles.
