In the movie, Varg Veum, a private detective in Bergen, Norway, is asked by his friend Even to investigate a false accusation against him. Even is accused of bombing Armakon, a weapons storage facility, and killing two people, but he insists that he is innocent. Varg Veum believes him and starts investigating the case.
As Varg Veum investigates, he discovers that there is a deeper conspiracy at work, involving corrupt military officials, arms dealers, and politicians. He also uncovers a connection between the bombing and a series of murders that have been happening in Bergen.
As Varg Veum digs deeper, he becomes a target himself. He is pursued by assassins who will stop at nothing to keep the truth from being exposed. However, with the help of his friends and his own skills as a detective, Varg Veum is able to uncover the truth behind the conspiracy and clear Even's name.
The movie is based on a series of novels by Norwegian author Gunnar Staalesen and is directed by Erik Richter Strand. It stars Trond Espen Seim as Varg Veum and Bjørn Floberg as Even.
