Vamps is a 2012 romantic comedy-horror film directed by Amy Heckerling and stars Alicia Silverstone and Krysten Ritter as two vampires living in New York City. The two women have been best friends for centuries and enjoy their vampire lifestyle of partying and dating men for their blood.
However, when Stacy (Silverstone) falls in love with a human, she considers giving up her immortality for him. Her friend, Goody (Ritter), encourages her to follow her heart but warns her of the potential consequences. Meanwhile, the old vampire Vlad (played by Malcolm McDowell) also has his sights set on Stacy and tries to sway her away from the human love interest.
As Stacy and her human boyfriend begin to grow closer, they face challenges that threaten their relationship, including the danger of Vlad discovering their secret lives as vampires. Goody also begins to question her own eternal existence and what it means for her future.
Filled with witty banter, pop culture references, and humorous situations, Vamps offers a fresh spin on the vampire genre. The film also features appearances by Sigourney Weaver, Richard Lewis, and Wallace Shawn.
