The movie Vacanze Di Natale (Christmas Holidays) was released in 1983 and became one of the highest-grossing Italian movies of all time. It tells the story of a group of people who spend their Christmas holidays in the luxurious ski resort of Cortina D'Ampezzo.

Mario, played by Christian De Sica, is a young man from Rome who comes to Cortina with his family for the holidays. He falls in love with Samantha, played by Sabrina Salerno, an American tourist who is in a relationship with Roberto, played by Fabrizio Bracconeri, a hypochondriac who is always worried about his health.

Billo, played by Massimo Boldi, is a playboy and a singer who is also spending his holidays in Cortina. He meets Ivana, played by Eleonora Giorgi, a woman he had a heated love affair with in the past. Despite the fact that she is now married to a rich man named Donatone, played by Enrico Maria Salerno, Billo wants to rekindle their romance.

The movie is filled with comedic situations and misunderstandings as the characters try to navigate their complicated romantic relationships. The picturesque location of Cortina also adds to the charm of the film.

Vacanze Di Natale was directed by Carlo Vanzina and produced by Mario and Vittorio Cecchi Gori. The movie was such a success that it spawned several sequels over the years, including Vacanze Di Natale '90, Vacanze Di Natale 2000, and Vacanze Di Natale a Cortina.
