Vacancy is a 2007 horror-thriller film directed by Nimród Antal and starring Luke Wilson and Kate Beckinsale. The movie follows a young married couple, David and Amy Fox, who are driving cross-country to attend a family event. They become stranded when their car breaks down and find themselves at a remote and creepy motel called the Pinewood. The motel is managed by an unfriendly man named Mason who seems to be the only employee.
David and Amy find a hidden camera in their room and, after a closer inspection, discover that all the rooms in the motel have similar cameras installed. They realize that they have been trapped and that their every move is being watched. Soon, they discover that the cameras are being used to produce snuff films - movies where people are filmed being murdered - and they are the next victims.
As they try to escape, they encounter various dangerous obstacles, including a group of violent hunters who are also staying at the motel. David and Amy team up to find a way out of the motel before it's too late. They eventually find a storage room where they discover footage of the previous guests being killed - including a young girl whom they had encountered earlier. They must use their wits and resourcefulness to try and survive the night and escape the hotel.
Vacancy is a suspenseful and tense movie full of twists and turns. It was well received by audiences and critics alike for its effective and unsettling atmosphere, clever plot, and strong performances from the main cast. It's a chilling reminder of how innocence can be corrupted and how vulnerable we all are when we're alone in the dark.
