Urban Justice is a 2007 action thriller film directed by Don E. FauntLeRoy and starring Steven Seagal, Eddie Griffin, and Carmen Serano. Seagal plays Simon Ballister, a former CIA agent who is now a businessman in Los Angeles. When his son, a police officer, is murdered in a drive-by shooting, Ballister returns to his violent past to find those responsible and bring them to justice.
As Ballister investigates his son's death, he uncovers a web of corruption and greed that reaches into the highest levels of government and law enforcement. Along the way, he teams up with a young detective (Griffin) and a tough bar owner (Serano) to take on the gangsters and corrupt officials who are responsible for his son's death.
The film features intense car chases, shootouts, and hand-to-hand combat scenes, all of which showcase Seagal's martial arts skills. It also deals with themes of family, loyalty, and revenge, as Ballister struggles to come to terms with his son's death and his own violent past.
Urban Justice received mixed reviews from critics, but has since gained a cult following among fans of Seagal's action movies. It was followed by a sequel, Urban Justice: Deadly Reckoning, in 2007.
