The young city girl, Faith, is struggling with personal demons and the recent death of her father when she is informed that her mother is terminally ill. With no other options left, Faith reluctantly leaves her urban life behind to care for her mother at their horse ranch in rural Louisiana.
Upon arrival, Faith is introduced to the ranch’s horse trainer, Travis, a rugged cowboy with a troubled past of his own. Despite their initial clashes, the two begin to develop a friendship as Faith embraces the chores and challenges of caring for the ranch’s horses.
As the summer progresses, Faith begins to uncover family secrets and uncovers a former love interest of her mother’s, causing her to question everything she thought she knew. Along the way, she also learns more about herself and how to confront her own demons with the help of Travis and the peaceful country lifestyle.
The film features an ensemble cast that includes Lou Diamond Phillips, C. Thomas Howell, Brighton Sharbino, and Jason London. Urban Country is a heartwarming tale of love, family, and finding oneself in the midst of adversity.
