Uptown Saturday Night is a 1974 American comedy film directed by Sidney Poitier and starring Poitier, Bill Cosby, and Harry Belafonte. It was the first of three films in which Poitier, Cosby, and Pryor appeared together.

The film follows two friends, Steve Jackson (played by Poitier) and Wardell Franklin (played by Cosby), who head to a fancy nightclub in uptown New York City for a night out. However, their plans are interrupted when the club is robbed, and Steve's wallet, containing a winning lottery ticket worth $50,000, is stolen.

Desperate to get the ticket back, Steve and Wardell embark on a wild and hilarious adventure through the streets of New York City, encountering a cast of colorful characters, including Godfather figure Geechie Dan Beauford (played by Belafonte) and a mysterious woman named Sarah (played by Rosalind Cash).

Along the way, Steve and Wardell must avoid the crooks who stole the ticket while trying to keep their wives from finding out about their misadventures.

Uptown Saturday Night was a critical and commercial success, becoming one of the highest-grossing films of 1974. It was followed by two sequels, Let's Do It Again (1975) and A Piece of the Action (1977), both of which also starred Poitier, Cosby, and Pryor.
