Underwater is a 2020 science fiction horror film directed by William Eubank. The movie follows a group of underwater researchers who are working on a deep-sea drilling facility. When an earthquake hits and destroys the facility, the group, led by mechanical engineer Norah Price (Kristen Stewart), has to find a way to escape before they run out of oxygen.
As they try to make their way to safety, the team must navigate through treacherous waters and face deadly creatures that have been awakened by the drilling. Norah and her team also discover that the earthquake was caused by a mysterious and dangerous entity lurking in the depths of the ocean, which adds an additional layer of danger to their already difficult journey.
The film also stars Vincent Cassel, Jessica Henwick, John Gallagher Jr., Mamoudou Athie and T.J. Miller. The movie received mixed reviews from critics, with praise given to the performances of the cast and the tense atmosphere of the film, but criticism directed towards the plot and lack of originality. Despite this, it was still able to gross over $40 million at the box office.
