Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives is a Thai film directed by Apichatpong Weerasethakul. Boonmee is a middle-aged farmer living in the countryside of Thailand, suffering from kidney failure. He decides to spend his last days in the countryside, surrounded by his loved ones.

During his stay, Boonmee is surprised to find that the ghost of his deceased wife has returned to care for him. His long-lost son also comes back home in the form of an ape-man. The family then embarks on a journey through the jungle to a mysterious hilltop cave that is said to be the birthplace of Boonmee's first life.

As they journey closer to the cave, Boonmee recalls his past lives, including his time as a water buffalo and his experience as a princess in a mythical kingdom. Along the way, the family encounters a range of supernatural occurrences and mystical beings, including a talking catfish and a group of monks who can communicate with the dead.

The film explores themes of life, death, reincarnation, and spirituality, and is told in a non-linear style that weaves together past memories, dreams, and present experiences. It won the Palme d'Or award at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival and received critical acclaim for its inventive storytelling and stunning visuals.
