The five kids are: Spencer, the nerdy inventor, Charlie, the tough girl, Donna, the fashion-conscious trendsetter, Beef, the jock, and Grace, the youngest and sweetest of the group.
After their flight to see their families is cancelled due to weather, they are placed in the care of a stern airport official, Oliver Porter. However, the kids manage to escape and create chaos throughout the airport, including riding luggage conveyor belts and sledding down escalators.
They eventually team up with a group of stranded adults and set out to find a way to get home in time for Christmas. Along the way, they face various challenges and obstacles, including evading Porter and breaking into Santa's workshop.
As they work together and rely on each other, the kids learn the true meaning of friendship and the importance of family. Eventually, they make it home just in time for Christmas.
