Un Flic, also known as A Cop, is a 1972 French crime film directed by Jean-Pierre Melville. The film stars Alain Delon as Commissaire Edouard Coleman, a jaded Paris police chief who is investigating a series of brutal robberies and drug smuggling activities in the city.
Edouard's life is stuck in a rut, and he spends most of his days dragging himself through his mundane job. His only escape is in his affair with Cathy (Catherine Deneuve), a beautiful but remote woman who seems to be hiding something.
Edouard's life becomes more complicated when he discovers that Cathy's boyfriend, Simon (Richard Crenna), is the mastermind behind a series of audacious robberies. Simon, a local nightclub owner, is also a drug smuggler who is planning one final heist that could net him millions.

Melville's direction is top-notch, with moody cinematography, striking set pieces, and a score by Michel Colombier that perfectly captures the ambience of the film.
