Two Evil Eyes is a horror anthology film directed by George A. Romero and Italian horror legend Dario Argento. The film consists of two segments based on short stories by Edgar Allan Poe: "The Facts in the Case of M. Valdemar" and "The Black Cat". Both segments take place in and around the city of Pittsburgh.

In "The Facts in the Case of M. Valdemar", the cheating wife Jessica Valdemar (Adrienne Barbeau) is trying to scam her dying husband Ernest (Bingo O'Malley) out of millions by enlisting the help of her doctor/hypnotist lover, Robert Hoffman (Ramy Zada). Hoffman hypnotizes Ernest and convinces him to sign over his money to Jessica. However, Ernest dies while under hypnosis, leaving his body in a state between life and death. Jessica and Robert try to hide the truth, but soon the undead Ernest starts to haunt them and seeks to enter the physical realm.

In "The Black Cat", the photographer Rodd Usher (Harvey Keitel) is an alcoholic who becomes increasingly unstable after he kills a stray cat that his live-in girlfriend Annabel (Madeleine Potter) brings home. He eventually kills Annabel as well and tries to cover up his crimes. However, a detective (John Amos) starts to investigate and Usher's sanity crumbles as he tries to keep his dark secrets hidden.

Two Evil Eyes features an all-star cast and notable horror talent behind the camera, including makeup effects artist Tom Savini and composer Pino Donaggio. The film offers a unique and stylish take on the chilling tales of Poe, with each segment providing its own brand of horror.
