Two Came Back is a made-for-TV movie that premiered on NBC in 1997. The film stars Melissa Joan Hart as Susan, a free-spirited young woman who joins the crew of a delivery vessel tasked with transporting a cargo of supplies across the Pacific Ocean. Susan is looking for adventure and a sense of purpose in her life, and she finds it in her new role as a deckhand.
The rest of the crew consists of Captain Russell (Jonathan Brandis), an experienced seaman who takes his responsibilities very seriously, First Mate David (David Gail), a skilled sailor who is also attracted to Susan, and Second Mate Jake (Susan Walters), a tough and experienced sailor who is initially wary of Susan's presence on the ship.
As the ship sets sail, they encounter a sudden and violent storm that threatens to capsize the vessel and leave them stranded in the middle of the ocean. The crew must work together to keep the ship afloat and try to make it through the storm alive.
Despite their best efforts, the ship takes on water and the crew is forced to abandon ship and take refuge on a nearby deserted island. There, they must band together to survive and find a way to be rescued.
As they struggle to survive on the island, tensions rise among the crew members, particularly between Susan and Jake, who clash over their different approaches to survival. Eventually, they are rescued by a passing ship, but not before they have each been tested and changed by their harrowing experience at sea.
