Julius and Vincent Benedict are twin brothers who were separated at birth as part of an experiment to create the perfect human being. Julius was raised on a secluded island and educated by various philosophers, becoming a tall, muscular, intellectual person with an incredibly positive outlook on life. Vincent, on the other hand, was raised in an orphanage and grew up to become a small-time crook.
The movie begins when Julius discovers the existence of his long-lost twin brother and decides to find him. He travels to the United States and eventually tracks Vincent down in a seedy Los Angeles neighborhood. At first, Vincent is reluctant to accept Julius as his brother, but eventually, the two team up to find their biological mother.
Along the way, they get involved in a series of misadventures, including car chases, bar fights, and encounters with loan sharks. Despite their differences, Julius and Vincent begin to bond and learn from each other. Julius helps Vincent discover his untapped potential and teaches him to be more positive and confident, while Vincent shows Julius the grittier side of life and helps him learn to be more assertive.
Their quest to find their mother leads them to Las Vegas, where they discover that she is dead. However, they do meet an attractive woman named Linda, who becomes Vincent's love interest. In the end, Vincent and Linda decide to start a new life together, while Julius returns to his island. The brothers part on good terms, having learned a great deal from each other throughout their adventure.
