True Legend is a 2010 martial arts film directed by Yuen Woo-ping and stars Vincent Zhao as Su Qi-Er. The film is based on a popular Chinese legend about a wealthy man who is betrayed and loses everything, only to become a martial arts master and a hero to the people.
The story begins with Su Qi-Er as a wealthy man living a luxurious life with his wife Ying (Zhou Xun) and their son Feng. However, his life takes a drastic turn when he is betrayed by his own brother-in-law, Yuan (Andy On), who covets his wealth and power. Yuan sets Su up to be humiliated and exiled from his home, causing him to lose everything he had worked for.
Despondent and lost, Su is taken in by a group of wandering monks who teach him the way of the martial arts. He spends years honing his skills and becomes a renowned fighter, even developing his own unique style of fighting known as the Drunken Fist. When he is forced to confront Yuan and his army, Su uses his new skills to fight for justice and protect his family and people.
Along the way, Su must also confront his own inner demons and learn to overcome his own weaknesses. He faces several opponents including an evil tyrant (David Carradine) who controls an army of martial arts warriors and challenges Su to a final battle.
