Trinil follows the newlywed couple, Alex and Sarah, as they return home from their honeymoon to start their new life together. However, their joyous newlywed bliss is quickly shattered when they begin to experience strange occurrences in their house. They start seeing glimpses of a disembodied head floating around their home, whispering cryptic messages and seemingly searching for something.
As the haunting intensifies, Alex and Sarah start to unravel the mystery of the disembodied head. Through research and investigation, they discover that the head belongs to a man who was decapitated in a gruesome murder many years ago, and his body was never found. The spirit of the man is trapped in a state of limbo, unable to move on until his body is reunited with his head.
Determined to help the restless spirit find peace, Alex and Sarah embark on a mission to uncover the truth behind the man's murder and locate his missing body. Along the way, they encounter supernatural obstacles and face their own fears as they delve deeper into the dark and twisted history of their house.
