Trigun: Badlands Rumble is a Japanese animated film that continues the story of the popular anime series Trigun, which aired in 1998. The film takes place in the secluded town of Makka, which is located in the middle of a vast desert. Its mayor, Kepler, hires a group of bounty hunters to protect the town from a notorious bandit named Gasback, who is rumored to be coming to Makka to steal a fortune in gold.
The main character of the film is Vash the Stampede, a skilled gunman with a reputation for causing destruction wherever he goes. He is accompanied by Meryl and Milly, two insurance agents who are always trying to catch him and make him pay for the damage he causes. Vash is initially reluctant to get involved in the town's problems, but he eventually agrees to help out when he learns of Gasback's plan.
Ameria and Wolfwood are two other bounty hunters who are also after Gasback. Ameria is a tough-as-nails woman who is driven by a desire for revenge against Gasback, who killed her family. Wolfwood is a traveling priest who moonlights as a skilled gunman.
As the story unfolds, the bounty hunters find themselves in a race against time to stop Gasback and his gang from carrying out their plan. The film features intense action sequences, intricate plot twists, and reveals about the characters' pasts and motivations.
Trigun: Badlands Rumble is a standalone story that can be enjoyed by fans of the Trigun anime series as well as newcomers to the franchise. It was released in Japan in 2010 and was later dubbed and released in English in 2012.
