In Trick or Treat Scooby-Doo!, Mystery Inc. is initially thrilled to have solved the case of Coco Diablo, a notorious criminal who had been using costumes as a disguise to commit crimes. However, just as they start to relax and enjoy Halloween, they find themselves faced with a new problem. Doppelgänger ghosts of themselves and their classic foes start appearing, causing chaos and destruction.
The gang realizes that they have to act fast to solve this new mystery, but they soon find that their counterparts are more powerful than they anticipated. The evil versions of themselves and their old enemies seem determined to ruin Halloween and stop Mystery Inc. from stopping them.
As they hunt for clues, the gang discovers that a mad scientist has developed a new type of costume that can bring anything to life - including ghosts. Now, they must navigate a world where costumes can come to life and take down the villainous doppelgängers before it’s too late.
