Val McKee and Earl Bassett are two handymen living in the isolated and rundown community of Perfection, Nevada. They desperately want to leave the town and start a new life, but lack the funds to do so. Along with a small group of other locals, they begin to notice strange occurrences around the town, such as animals disappearing and strange seismic readings being detected.
Meanwhile, a seismology student named Rhonda LeBeck arrives in town to study the unusual tremors. She discovers that the readings are being caused by massive underground creatures, which are identified as Graboids. These creatures are enormous, worm-like predators with the ability to detect vibrations and sound from great distances.
As the Graboids continue to terrorize the small town, Val and Earl team up with Rhonda and a local gun enthusiast named Burt Gummer to try and find a way to defeat them. They soon discover that the creatures are attracted to sound vibrations and are impervious to most conventional weapons.
As the tension mounts and the Graboids become more aggressive, Val and Earl must come up with a daring plan to save the town and escape with their lives. In the end, they are able to lure the creatures into a remote canyon and destroy them with homemade explosives.
Tremors has become a cult classic, spawning numerous sequels and a TV series. The film is known for its mix of humor and suspense, as well as its memorable characters and iconic monsters.
