The film Trapped: The Alex Cooper Story is based on the real-life experience of Alex Cooper, a teenage girl who was forced into conversion therapy by her devout Mormon parents after she came out as gay. The movie depicts Alex's traumatic experience during her eight-month stay at the conversion therapy home, where she endured emotional abuse, physical punishment, and isolation from the outside world.

He became her ally and helped her contact an attorney who could help her escape.
The movie ends with Alex successfully escaping from the conversion therapy home with the help of her lawyer. She then seeks refuge with a friend and begins to rebuild her life with the support of her new found LGBTQ+ community. The film raises awareness about the dangers of conversion therapy and the need to protect LGBTQ+ minors from this harmful practice.
