Trancers 5: Sudden Deth takes place shortly after the events of Trancers IV: Jack of Swords. Jack Deth, a time-traveling cop from the 23rd century, has been transported to the magical world of Orpheus, where he has been caught up in a battle between the ruling trancers and a rebel group known as the "Tiamond hunters."
Jack's quest to find the mystical Tiamond, a powerful gem that can grant wishes, has led him to the Castle of Unrelenting Terror, a dangerous fortress guarded by traps and monsters. Jack is accompanied by Lena, a former trancer who has now joined the rebels.
However, their journey is complicated by the return of Caliban, the king of the trancers who was believed to be dead. Caliban has powerful magical abilities and is determined to stop Jack from finding the Tiamond, which he sees as a threat to his power.
As Jack and Lena traverse the castle, they must battle Caliban's minions and outwit his traps. Along the way, they encounter a variety of strange characters, including a mad scientist, a talking dog, and a group of evil monks.
Ultimately, Jack must face off against Caliban in a final showdown, with the fate of Orpheus and the Tiamond at stake.
