In the movie Trancers, Jack Deth is a tough trooper in the 23rd century who is known for his ability to track down and eliminate "trancers" - people who have been turned into mindless zombies by a powerful drug called "trance". Deth's archenemy is an evil trancer master named Whistler, who has the ability to manipulate time and space.
When Deth's superiors in Angel City learn that Whistler has traveled back in time to 1985 Los Angeles, they send Deth on a mission to stop him. Using an experimental time travel device, Deth's consciousness is sent back in time to inhabit the body of his ancestor, a private detective named Phil Deth.
As Phil Deth, Jack begins investigating a series of bizarre murders that appear to be connected to Whistler's plan to take over the bodies of all the ancestors of Angel City's future governing council. Along the way, Jack teams up with a spunky young punk girl named Leena, who becomes his ally and love interest.
As Jack and Leena race against the clock to stop Whistler and his army of trancers, they uncover a web of conspiracy that reaches all the way to the highest levels of government. The final showdown between Jack and Whistler takes place in a dramatic confrontation that tests Jack's strength, intelligence, and courage to the limit.
