The movie Toys is a 1992 American fantasy comedy film. Leslie Zevo (played by Robin Williams) is the son of Kenneth Zevo, a toy maker who creates eccentric toys unique in the industry, such as a board game that uses actual rocket launchers as pieces. Leslie is next in line to inherit the family's toy factory, but the sudden death of his father brings his uncle Leland (played by Michael Gambon) into the management position.
Leland is a strict, militaristic general who sees the factory as an opportunity to create and market military weapons disguised as toys. He bends the design team to his will and begins mass-producing dangerous war machines made to look like playful objects. Leslie, along with his sister Alsatia (played by Joan Cusack) and his love interest Gwen (played by Robin Wright), must work together to stop Leland's dangerous production and bring the factory back to its former glory.
The film features an imaginative and colorful visual style from acclaimed filmmaker Barry Levinson. The cast also includes notable performers such as LL Cool J, Jamie Foxx, and Donald O'Connor. The storyline explores themes of creativity, imagination, family, and individuality.
