In Toy Story 4, Woody and his fellow toy friends, including Buzz Lightyear, Jessie, and Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head, are adjusting to their new life with Bonnie as their owner. However, Bonnie creates a new toy out of a spork and names him Forky. Woody takes it upon himself to keep Forky safe and show him the importance of being a toy.
When Bonnie and her family go on a road trip, Woody and Forky become separated from the group and must embark on an adventurous journey to reunite with their friends. Along the way, Woody and Forky meet new toys, including the charming and dangerous Gabby Gabby, and reunite with old friends like Bo Peep, who has been living as a "lost toy" since Toy Story 2.
Throughout the journey, Woody struggles with his place in the world as Bonnie begins to favor playing with Forky over him. He also questions his role as a toy and whether he should continue to protect and care for his owner or explore the world outside of Bonnie's room.
Toy Story 4 explores themes of change, growing up, and the importance of friendship. It also introduces new and dynamic characters while bringing back beloved and nostalgic ones.
