Torso is a 1973 Italian Giallo film directed by Sergio Martino. The movie follows four young college girls who decide to leave the city for a weekend to study and relax in a remote villa in a countryside valley. However, their weekend takes a sinister turn when they become the target of a serial killer who is terrorizing the area.
Throughout the film, the killer brutally murders several young women, leaving their dismembered bodies scattered throughout the town. The main suspect is a mentally unstable artist named Franco (played by the Italian actor, Fabio Testi), who lives nearby. However, as the plot twists and turns, more suspects emerge, leading to an intense climax revealing the true identity of the killer.
The film is known for its brutal and realistic violence, featuring graphic scenes of sexual violence and murder. It is also notable for its use of atmospheric settings and a haunting musical score by composer Guido & Maurizio De Angelis, which adds to the overall tension and suspense of the plot.
Despite its controversial content, Torso has become a cult classic among fans of the Giallo genre and is considered one of Martino's most iconic films.
