Top Secret! is a 1984 comedy film directed by Jim Abrahams, David Zucker, and Jerry Zucker. The film stars Val Kilmer as Nick Rivers, a popular American singer who travels to East Germany to perform at a music festival. While there, he falls in love with Hillary Flammond, played by Lucy Gutteridge. Flammond's father, Dr. Paul, has been captured by the Germans and is being forced to build a new naval mine. Rivers and Flammond team up with Agent Cedric, played by Omar Sharif, and a group of underground resistance fighters to rescue Dr. Paul.
The film is a parody of both Elvis Presley musicals and World War II spy films. It features a number of musical numbers, including originals and parodies of popular songs, as well as physical comedy and visual gags. The film received mixed reviews upon its release but has since become a cult classic. It is notable for launching Kilmer's career and being one of the first films produced by the team behind the successful Airplane! franchise.
