Too Hot to Die

Comedy  South Korea

Too Hot to Die is a dark comedy about a group of six strangers who meet through a suicide chatroom and make a pact to end their lives together. They plan to gather at a secluded house in the countryside and drink poison, but their plan is thrown off balance when a beautiful woman named Mi-joo arrives unexpectedly. She initially claims to be suicidal like the rest of them, but as the night progresses, her true intentions and motives become more mysterious.

The rest of the group consists of a former boxer, a failed writer, a gambling addict, a divorcee and a young man struggling with his sexuality. As the night goes on, they begin to bond with each other and open up about their past struggles and regrets. However, their plan to die together grows more complicated as Mi-joo's presence causes unforeseen conflicts and tensions.

The film explores themes of loneliness, desperation, and human connection through dark humor and unexpected twists. As the characters navigate their shared fate, they must come to terms with their own motivations and question whether suicide is really the answer to their problems. Too Hot to Die is a unique and thought-provoking take on the classic suicide pact trope.
