Tombstone is a 1993 American western film directed by George P. Cosmatos, starring Kurt Russell as Wyatt Earp and Val Kilmer as Doc Holliday. The movie is based on the true events surrounding the shootout at the OK Corral in Tombstone, Arizona in 1881.

The story follows Wyatt Earp, a famous lawman, who moves to Tombstone with his brothers, Virgil and Morgan, to start a new life after leaving their law enforcement careers behind. However, trouble soon arises when Earp and his brothers clash with a gang of outlaws, known as the Cowboys, who are led by a ruthless outlaw named Curly Bill Brocius (played by Powers Boothe).

Earp must put his lawman skills to use again and becomes the town's new marshal, along with his deputies, including his old friend, Doc Holliday. Despite opposition from the town's corrupt officials, Earp and his team take on the Cowboys, leading to a series of violent confrontations that culminate in the famous shootout at the OK Corral.

The movie also explores the complex relationship between Earp and Holliday, who become good friends despite their contrasting personalities and lifestyles. Holliday, a gambler and alcoholic, is a source of comic relief throughout the film, but also proves himself to be a skilled gunman when it matters most.

Tombstone received positive reviews for its ensemble cast, action sequences, and attention to historical detail, becoming a popular and enduring portrayal of the American West.
