Tomboy is a French drama film directed by Céline Sciamma. The movie revolves around a 10-year-old girl named Laure, who moves to a new neighborhood with her family during the summer. When Laure meets a group of kids, she decides to masquerade as a boy named Mickaël. As Mickaël, Laure feels more comfortable and confident in her skin than she ever has before. However, her secret eventually gets out, and she must navigate the challenges of being accepted as a girl again. The movie explores themes of gender identity, adolescence, and self-discovery.
