In Tomb Raider, Lara Croft is portrayed by Alicia Vikander. The movie begins with Lara working as a bike courier in London and refusing to accept her inheritance from her father, who disappeared seven years ago while on a quest. However, she soon discovers that her father left her a puzzle-filled message before his disappearance. Intrigued, Lara sets out to find her father and learn the truth about his disappearance.
Lara travels to Hong Kong, where she meets Lu Ren, the captain of the ship that her father chartered on his last voyage. Together, they journey to the distant island of Yamatai, where Lara believes her father may have been taken. Upon arrival, they are captured by mercenaries employed by Trinity, a mysterious organization that is also searching for the tomb of Himiko, a mythical queen of Yamatai.
The rest of the movie follows Lara as she tries to outsmart Trinity and uncover the secrets of Yamatai. She faces numerous challenges, including treacherous terrain, deadly traps, and fierce battles with Trinity's soldiers. Along the way, she also discovers the truth about her father and realizes the extent of her own strength and courage.
Tomb Raider is an action-packed adventure movie that combines elements of the video game series with a new and compelling storyline. It was directed by Roar Uthaug and released in 2018.
