The 1992 TV movie To Grandmother's House We Go follows young twins, Sarah and Julie, who feel like they are a burden to their single mother. The energetic siblings decide to take matters into their own hands and embark on a journey to their grandmother's house for Christmas.
With only a small amount of cash, the girls set off on foot and experience a series of mishaps and adventures along the way, including getting lost in the woods and getting into a car with a suspicious stranger. Eventually, they team up with a kindhearted truck driver named Eddie, who helps them navigate their way to their destination.
However, their journey takes a dangerous turn when they encounter two criminals, Eddie's former cellmates, who set out to steal his truck and money. Sarah and Julie's clever maneuvers help outsmart the bad guys, and they finally arrive safely at their grandmother's house.
Throughout the movie, the twins learn valuable lessons about trusting their instincts, never giving up, and the importance of family. To Grandmother's House We Go stars actresses Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen as Sarah and Julie and also features Rhea Perlman and Cynthia Geary in supporting roles.
