Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue is a 2010 animated film produced by DisneyToon Studios. It is the third installment in the Disney Fairies franchise, which revolves around the magical world of fairies living in Pixie Hollow.
The movie begins with Tinker Bell venturing out of Pixie Hollow to explore the mainland. While she is admiring a beautiful fairy house made by a little girl named Lizzy, she accidentally gets trapped inside. Lizzy, who is obsessed with fairies and has even set up a camera to catch them on film, is overjoyed to discover Tinker Bell and befriends her.
Meanwhile, Tinker Bell's fairy friends, including the adventurous Vidia, embark on a mission to rescue her. However, the mission is complicated by a raging thunderstorm and Lizzy's determined father, who is trying to capture a picture of the elusive fairies.
As Tinker Bell spends time with Lizzy, she begins to see the human world in a new, positive light and realizes the importance of believing in fairies. However, when Lizzy's father finally captures footage of the fairies, Tinker Bell and her friends must band together to prevent their existence from being exposed.
The movie features an all-star voice cast, including Mae Whitman as Tinker Bell, Lucy Liu as Silvermist, Raven-Symoné as Iridessa, and Pamela Adlon as Vidia. It received generally positive reviews for its heartwarming story and stunning animation, and was a commercial success, grossing over $110 million worldwide.
