Timelock

Science Fiction  N/A

Timelock is a science fiction action movie released in 1996. It was directed by Robert Munic and starred Maryam D'Abo, Arye Gross, and Jeffrey Meek. The movie takes place in the 23rd century, where the most dangerous criminals are sent to a distant planet called Proxima Centauri. There, they are put into cryonic suspension and monitored by a sophisticated computer system.

The story begins when a mysterious virus is loaded into the computer system, causing it to malfunction. The system's fail-safe mechanisms fail, and the inmates are released from their suspended animation. Among them is a group of exceptionally dangerous prisoners who have formed a gang and taken control of the facility.

The protagonist of the movie is Jason (Arye Gross), a small-time thief who was on his way to the penal colony when the virus was unleashed. Together with the shuttle's driver, Trager (Jeffrey Meek), he attempts to survive in the hostile environment and stop the gang from causing further mayhem. Maryam D'Abo plays the role of Alex, a scientist who helps Jason and Trager fight the prisoners.

The movie features plenty of action scenes with explosions, gunplay, and martial arts fights. It also contains some suspenseful moments as the protagonists try to outsmart the criminals and escape from their clutches. Despite its B-movie feel, Timelock received positive reviews for its entertaining story and solid performances from the cast.
