Time Out for Rhythm is a 1941 musical comedy film directed by Sidney Salkow. It stars Rudy Vallee as Barry Clayton, a producer who partners with Duke Lester (Richard Lane) to start a radio show. The two clash over the choice of two women to feature in their show: Terry Baxter (Rosemary Lane), a talented singer who Barry is in love with, and Pat Abbott (Ann Miller), a vaudeville dancer who Duke sees as a better fit for their show.
Barry is devoted to Terry, and believes in her talent. He puts his all into helping her succeed, even when their partnership with Duke becomes strained. Meanwhile, Duke sees Pat as a moneymaker for their show, and tries to get her more airtime at the expense of Terry. Soon, a love triangle develops between Barry, Terry, and Pat, leading to a series of misunderstandings and complications.
The film features several musical numbers, including performances by Rudy Vallee and his band, as well as dance numbers by Ann Miller. The plot revolves around the struggles of show business and the tension that arises between business partners who have different visions for their show.
