Tides is a post-apocalyptic science fiction film, directed and written by Tim Fehlbaum. The movie is set in the year 2049, where the world has been devastated by a catastrophic event, leaving very few survivors. The remaining humans live on floating cities, while an elite group of astronauts reside on Space Colony Kepler.
The story centers around Blake (Nora Arnezeder), a member of the Kepler crew who is sent on a mission to Earth to retrieve biological samples. While on the planet, Blake unexpectedly comes across a group of survivors who have managed to keep their humanity intact in the midst of the chaos.
As Blake spends more time with the survivors, she begins to question the mission she has been assigned. She realizes that the people on Earth are worth saving, and that the elite group on Kepler has become disconnected and egocentric.
Despite the risks, Blake decides to return to Kepler with the survivors in tow, hoping to convince her colleagues of their need to repopulate and rebuild the planet. However, her decision puts her in conflict with her superiors and she must confront the consequences of her actions.
Tides explores the themes of survival, sacrifice, and what it means to be human. The film boasts beautiful cinematography and a hauntingly beautiful score, and features an incredible performance by Nora Arnezeder as Blake.
