tick, tick...BOOM! is a musical drama film directed by Lin-Manuel Miranda and based on the autobiographical musical of the same name by Jonathan Larson. The story follows Jon, a struggling composer in his late 20s who is trying to make it big in Broadway. He is facing a ticking clock as his 30th birthday approaches. Jon is under pressure to succeed as an artist from his girlfriend Susan, who wants to settle down and have kids, and his best friend Michael, who has given up on his artistic aspirations to become a successful businessman.
