Thunderbolt is a 1995 Hong Kong action film directed by Gordon Chan and starring Jackie Chan. The film follows Jackie, who plays a successful car mechanic named Chan Foh To. His life changes when his younger sister, Ling, is kidnapped by a criminal gang led by Cougar (Thorsten Nickel), who demands ransom in exchange for Ling's safety.
Chan learns that Cougar is a notorious and undefeated street racer known as the "Thunderbolt", so he decides to enter the illegal street racing scene to try and defeat him. Chan's car is heavily modified to be a competitive race car, with the help of his girlfriend, Monica (Anita Yuen).
The races are intense and dangerous, with numerous high-speed chases and crashes. Along the way, Chan confronts various opponents and tries to gather information about Cougar's whereabouts. He also has to deal with the police, who are investigating the illegal racing scene.
As Chan gets closer to Cougar, he discovers that the gang has more sinister plans involving Ling, and he must fight against time to rescue his sister and stop the criminal gang. In the final showdown, Chan faces off against Cougar in a thrilling race that will determine the fate of his sister and himself.
The film's action sequences have been praised for their intensity and realism, with many of the stunts performed by Jackie Chan himself. Thunderbolt showcases the dangerous and exciting world of illegal street racing and the lengths one man will go to save his family.
